Kristina Altomari, LCSW

Staff Clinician

Kristina follows a strengths-based, person-centered approach in her therapeutic work and believes that no matter what someone is experiencing, they have the right to have a say in their own treatment. To help clients reach their goals, she employs techniques drawn from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. When working with a client, she determines which coping skill or approach will best fit their individual goals, and her treatment approaches are uniquely shaped by what the person feels they need.

Kristina has experience working with a range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, and trauma, as well as working with family systems and groups. She encourages her clients to bring their stories into therapy, including the impact of experiences related to their background, major life events, and experiences of discrimination or injustice they may have faced in their lives. She works to create open conversations about how their experiences have informed where they are today. Outside of work, she finds herself outside a lot, enjoying nature, tending to her vegetable garden, and watching her pets play in the yard.
